| Every human heart tends to run from God and
rebel against Him. The Bible calls this "sin." Romans 3:23 says, "For
all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Yet, God loves you and wants to save you from sin, to offer you a
new life of hope. John 10:10 says, "I have come that you may have life, and
have it to the full."
All people have a need for God's free gift of eternal life in
order to return to a relationship with God and live with Him for eternity. We must
each individually receive this gift because we can never make up for our sin by self
improvement or good works. Only by trusting in the shed blood of Jesus Christ as
God's provision for forgiveness can we be saved from sin's penalty (eternal death).
Eternal
life begins the moment we receive Jesus Christ into our life by faith, and salvation, as
an act of God's grace, is permanent.
STEPS TO RECEIVING SALVATION AND EVERLASTING LIFE.
1. Recognize
that GOD loves you and created you to have a personal relationship with Him.
Psalm 139:13-14; John 3:16, 17:3
2.
Understand that our sin keeps us from having a personal relationship with God.
James 4:17; Romans 3:23, 6:23; Isaiah 59:2
3.
Know that only through Jesus Christ can you have a personal relationship with God.
John 14:6; 1 Peter 3:18; 1 Corinthians 15:3-6
4.
Personally respond to this through prayer by trusting Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 3:19; John 1:12
Faith is a decision of your heart demonstrated by the actions of your life. If it
is the desire of your heart to receive salvation, you can accept Jesus Christ as your Lord
and Savior RIGHT NOW, by praying this prayer:
Dear God, I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus died
to forgive me of my sins. I now invite Jesus into my life and give Him control of
it. I now accept Your offer of eternal life. Thank you for forgiving me for all of
my sin. Thank you for my new life. I choose to follow you from this day
forward. Amen.
If you prayed this prayer, share your decision with a Christian friend or pastor.
If you are not already attending church, find one in which you can worship, learn
and grow in your faith. Have a mature Christian help you determine that the church
you select is a solid Bible based church. Following Christ's example, ask to be baptized
as a public expression of your faith.
We would love to hear about your decision to follow
Christ. Please let us know by filling out the following (we will pray
for you and send you a free copy of the book "A Decision for Eternity"):
